Between May 28 and June 7, Düsseldorf, Germany, was the epicenter of the world's largest graphics industry fair, DRUPA 2024. After an eight-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event returned with full force, bringing innovations, trends and a unique networking and knowledge exchange experience.
A Triumphant Return
DRUPA, held every four years, occupied an area of 140 thousand square meters, distributed among 18 pavilions. This year, the fair had the participation of 1,643 exhibitors from 52 countries and received 2,001 Brazilian visitors, including representatives of 927 brands. The comparison with the last edition shows a significant increase in the Brazilian presence, evidencing the growth and interest of the national printing industry.

Sustainability and Innovation in the Spotlight
The central theme of DRUPA 2024 was “sustainable printing”, reflecting the commitment to environmental responsibility and the search for eco-conscious solutions. The Brazilian Association of the Printing Industry (ABIGRAF) highlighted solutions aimed at digital transformation, especially in printing and post-printing processes, with the use of enabling technologies of Industry 4.0 and the emerging trend of Industry 5.0. According to ABIGRAF, in Industry 5.0, the goal is to combine the efficiency and precision of Industry 4.0 technologies with the creativity, emotional intelligence and problem-solving capabilities of human beings. This results in work environments where humans and robots work side by side in harmony, creating more personalized and innovative products and services.
Marabu's Participation
One of the highlights of DRUPA 2024 was the participation of Marabu, the only manufacturer of high-tech digital inks to exhibit at the world's largest event in the printing sector. Marabu presented its line of non-toxic water-based inks for T-shirts and fabrics, demonstrating that there is a much higher quality solution than DTF, widely used in Brazil by Chinese manufacturers. In addition, the company exhibited its inks for thermoformatting, leading the automotive, home appliance and electronics markets. Another highlight was the single pass digital printing for cups, bottles and the like, which allows the production of reliefs and special effects, expanding the possibilities for customization and innovation.
